A little place to pause.

Pocket Weather World is a small, imaginary island. Pick a season of weather, listen for a while, or leave it quiet. There is no score and nothing to finish.

Made of small things

The island, randomized cottages, swaying trees, birds, mist and precipitation are drawn procedurally with Canvas 2D. The village stays the same as you change weather; New village generates another arrangement. Rain, snow, sunset and night work as manual presets. Choose a city to follow current weather-model data from Open-Meteo: light, clouds, precipitation and wind each shape the scene. The island is an artistic interpretation, not a weather instrument.

The soundtrack is synthesized with the Web Audio API: slow, overlapping sine-wave chords over filtered noise. No music files, sampled songs or external sound libraries. Sound starts only when you ask, and stops when the tab is hidden.

Weather from the world

Weather data by Open-Meteo under CC BY 4.0; place names from GeoNames. Conditions update every 15 minutes while the page is visible. The timestamp is shown in the selected city’s timezone. The public weather API has non-commercial usage limits.

Quiet by default

No account, device geolocation, API keys or analytics. City search sends your search query to Open-Meteo, and selecting a city sends its coordinates to their weather API. Manual mode makes no weather requests. Hosting providers may still keep ordinary request logs. Motion can be paused, and the island respects your system’s reduced-motion preference.
